Overview

Luuwit View Park transformed 16 acres of vacant land in NE Portland's Cully neighborhood into one of the city's most distinctive community spaces. The park takes its name from the Cowlitz word for Mount St. Helens — one of five Cascade peaks visible from the site on a clear day.

Raimore delivered the full scope of site development, including the iconic Skylab-designed sculptural pavilion with its faceted yellow steel structure, a sloped amphitheater with curving terraced lawns, an inclusive playground with climbing dome and embedded slide hill, a basketball court, soccer field, picnic shelters, and ADA pathways throughout. The project also features two major public art commissions — including a vibrant mosaic sculpture honoring the cultural heritage of the surrounding community.
